LuvSound models itself on a developing radical acapital goal: to the best of our ability, we sidestep all channels of capitalism in the interest of striking at the heart of Empire and lending a hand to emergent critical practices. We're interested above all in the networks and intersections that may emerge through critical artistic practice. We hope to facilitate a community of artistic free play that nurtures the spirit of collaboration and the sharing of ideas, experiences, and work.
we love these texts, and hope you will too:
empire - antonio negri and michael hardt
manufacturing consent - edward s. herman and noam chomsky
the dhammapada - translation by harischandra kaviratna
the cultural logic of late capitalism - fredric jameson

the idea called music is not separate from "sound in general", yet we have made it so by devising rules by which music may be ascertained or known. music is in the listening, and this is what i am about.
all sound is the same, namely a vibration, and our minds have separated one set of vibrations from the general over-all vibration and labeled it. music is therefore, a judgement.
how many times have i heard someone say, after an evening of playing together..."everything sounds musical now"....this is the effect of listening without judgement. the ultimate outcome of listening without judgement is the realization that all things are one, that no thing is separate from any other except by the machinations of our minds.
